Smartphones Are Causing Fatal Diseases, Says Expert

Doctor Nirmal Singh 3C claims that smartphones are the main reason for causing tumours in brains supported by the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre.

On May 8 when the world celebrates World Brain Tumour Day, Doctor Nirmal Singh 3C pointed out over the obsession of youngsters with cell phones. Smartphone have a radiation, known as Radiofrequency Radiation (RFR), have the capacity to get inside the human body and affects your DNA.

“In 2011, the World Health Organization (WHO) had classified cell phone radiation as a possible 2B carcinogen. Tissues nearest to the cell phone antenna absorb the wireless energy, which can result in several types of neurological issues including neoplasm, acoustic neuroma, and increase the risk of various types of cancers,” said Dr. A K Sahani, Head of Department, Neurology, Indian Spinal Injuries Centre.

“Over-use of cell phones affects overall energy levels, attitudes, emotional and psychological behaviour, and body metabolism,” he added.

The RF energy exposure also depends on the way one uses his or her smartphones. This is the reason why Doctor Nirmal Singh 3C suggests us to use phones either on speaker mode or on hand-free.

The amount of RF energy exposure is also related to the way a smartphone is used. Phones on speaker mode and hands-free are suggested by the doctors, as this distances the radiation from the head. It can cause a number of diseases cancerous brain tumours such as gliomas. In order to avoid these problems, Doctor Nirmal Singh suggests people to stay away from phones as much as possible and get hold of real world rather than the virtual world, also maintain sleep pattern.

“Use of mobile phones can increase the risk of a brain tumour by 1.65 times more in people,” Doctor Anita Jagetia, Professor and Senior Neurosurgeon, at G B Pant Hospital said.
